About PathLight
PathLight’s mission is to support organisations to evolve and prosper in the changing landscape of governance (ESG), climate risk, sustainability, and risk management.
Changes in legislation, regulations, stakeholder requirements, our environment and society are driving an increasing need for organisations to take effective action in these areas.
PathLight has the knowledge and experience to provide advice and support throughout the process, from assessing current status, designing and implementing workstreams, to successful achievement of targets and on-going success.
Jon has experience across PathLight’s portfolio of services, but his special areas of interest are climate risk and sustainability, especially supporting organisations to:
respond to the implementation of climate risk reporting in New Zealand by the External Reporting Board (XRB), in line with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD); and
make a positive difference on sustainability in line with the Sustainable Development Goals framework adopted by the UN Global Compact¹ and report under sustainable reporting frameworks.
Jon’s interest in these areas is driven by his desire to be part of the solution on climate change and sustainability.
On the publication of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC²) report in February 2022, Hans-Otto Pörtner, a co-chair of working group 2 of the IPCC, stated that “The scientific evidence is unequivocal: climate change is a threat to human wellbeing and the health of the planet. Any further delay in concerted global action will miss a brief and rapidly closing window to secure a liveable future.”
The time for action is now.
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030.
the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.
