About PathLight
PathLight’s mission is to support organisations to evolve and prosper in the changing landscape of governance (ESG), climate risk, sustainability, and risk management.
Changes in legislation, regulations, stakeholder requirements, our environment and society are driving an increasing need for organisations to take effective action in these areas.
PathLight has the knowledge and experience to provide advice and support throughout the process, from assessing current status, designing and implementing workstreams, to successful achievement of targets and on-going success.
Jon has experience across PathLight’s portfolio of services, but his special areas of interest are climate risk and sustainability, especially supporting organisations to:
respond to climate-related disclosure requirements in line with the standards issued by the External Reporting Board (XRB) in New Zealand
respond to relevant reporting frameworks in accordance with the standards issued by the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), covering sustainability reporting and climate-related reporting
make a positive difference on sustainability in line with the Sustainable Development Goals framework adopted by the UN Global Compact¹.
Jon’s interest in these areas is driven by his desire to be part of the solution on climate change and sustainability.
In December 2024 in his message for the New Year, UN Secretary-General António Guterres noted that the top 10 hottest years on record occurred in the past decade and stated that:
“This is climate breakdown — in real-time. We must exit this road to ruin -— and we have no time to lose. In 2025, countries must put the world on a safer path by dramatically slashing emissions, and supporting the transition to a renewable future. It is essential — and it is possible.”
The time for action is now.
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030.
